A star chart should be scientifically grounded and visually considered. Scientific plotting tools often leave the design work to the person using them.
The approach
StarForge combines real ephemerides and the Hipparcos catalog with a composable Python API and an SVG rendering pipeline. Location, time, field of view, and styling all feed a reproducible output.

Vector output keeps the result useful beyond a browser. Charts stay crisp in print, and the same engine can be used from a short Python script or the command line.
